Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his unique mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician, singing and playing in the local church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice,"Stalk You the House, came out only in Japan. It's been remixed numerous times and has become a staple of her live show. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. She was the main keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) was approached for an opportunity to be the director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
